Some of the Junior Infant-2nd class pupils had lots of fun on Wednesday morning indoor planting with Ms.Diffley. Our two planters near our entrance door were in much need of some colour so we added some lovely pink, yellow, white and purple plants to them. The girls did a great job planting!

3rd class learn about the Egyptians!
3rd class learned all about the Egyptians over the past few weeks. The girls found out so many interesting facts and completed very impressive projects using a wide variety of materials!

Ms.Malone's junior Infant class were very busy today planting sunflower seeds in their own individual pots!

Engineers Week in 4th & 6th classes
Despite our short week on account of the snow, Ms.Concannon's 4th class got to experience some fun activities during engineering week. They learned all about gravity and air resistance. They had the challenge of making a parachute for an egg and had great fun working in groups. The aim of the experiment was to ensure that the egg had a 'soft landing'. The girls were very creative in their constructions and had an 'egg-cellent time! Did they pass the test? That is the question...
The girls made catapults out of Lego. They learned all about forces and had to investigate which catapult could fire the longest distance!
6th class had lots of fun with Scratch, a computer program which helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively!
