We were very excited to have Molly from News2Day visit our school today, to talk all things Trashion! 

After months of hard work our Trashion Show was finally showcased this week. News2Day from RTE came to visit our school to capture the event. We also welcomed the Regional Coordinator with The Arts Council's Creative Schools Programme, Nora Nic Con Ultaigh, to our school to witness the coming together of the project. In celebration of all of the students hard (and super creative) work, every student received a Trashion Show portrait that they can keep. This was made possible by fundraising from our wonderful PA! A huge thank you to Annie Holland, Karl Quinn and in particular Ms Linda Flynn for organising this super project!

The girls in St Brigid's love playing with Lego. 

Last week, the girls in Ms. Sheils Junior Infant class got together with their 6th class buddies to create Lego Houses.

Our third to sixth classes have started learning Spanish as part of the Government's initiative "Languages Connect." Our

school has engaged the wonderful services of Brady Languages for the next eight weeks.

We are very excited to be apart of the Languages Connect programme which aims to - 

• Generate awareness among pupils of the range of languages used by their peers, including Irish Sign Language, in their schools and communities which may help support greater inclusion and appreciation of diversity in society,

• Encourage uptake of languages at post-primary level,

• Provide opportunities for increased levels of collaboration among the school community with regard to the celebration of languages and cultures,

• Support implementation of Languages Connect, Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017–2026

As part of our amazing Thrashion Show project we wanted to raise awareness about overuse of plastics. Our senior students wrote letters to Mr Tayto Ireland. Today we received a reply from Tayto Snacks Sustainability Team informing us about their end goal to make their packaging 100% recyclable by 2025.
